S. I. Drake, Lt/IPD (Ret) says
On behalf of the Société de Police – IPD Adam & Edward, our condolences and our salute to a fellow and friend on learning of his stepping away from this life.
What a great “person of understanding”, hero, teacher and brother! When it is said that so much is owed so few by so many, Bob is certainly one of those who is owed so much from his life experiences of sharing and caring.
I was very honored to be the training instructor of his 1985 IPD Reserve Recruit Class. Bob was one of an entire group of men and women who understood the necessity of those who could caring enough to share of themselves for the benefit of others.
Bob had already shared 20 years of military experience as a naval aviator, was at the time also serving as Senior Navy Instructor of the Pike High School Naval R.OT.C. Program. However he felt the need and had the desire to put it all on the line serving as a reserve law enforcement officer in the Indianapolis community.
I will never be able to thank Bob and other members of their class for serving as honorably, professionally and with such tenure as he and the majority of them have and one continues to this day to do.
I render my final salute to Bob and pray: Eternal rest grant unto Robert C. Adams, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
